The Area
West Bohemen is a special area, specially known for all her many natural hot springs. It is famous for its spas. The area is rich in forests and water (the 100 lakes area). This area borders directly on Germany and therefore it is easily accesible.
The view
Villa Maximus is situated against the slopes of Nové Mesto (new village) of Jáchymov in the Czech Republic. The view from the house is beautiful, with on the left of the house two medieval towers and on the right nice ski slopes can be tested in winter times. The mountains sides are covered with beautiful trees and with grassy areas. Early in the morning, when the sun slowly rises and dew is covering the grass, the deer and other wildlife appear out of the dusk in the proximity of the house.
Famous people
Many famous people such as J.W. Goethe, Chopin, van Beethoven, Tsaar Peter and Marie Louise (ex-vrouw van Napoleon) have spent time in the west Bohemia. The 18th and 19th century architecture has clearly left its mark. There are many buildings in Neo-gothic and Neo-renaissance style to admire. The surrounding area is full of hills, wooded areas, varied with farmland.
A breathtaking view from Villa Maximus with the Slikova tower in front and the Klinovec mountain in the back. Super ski slopes in winter and natural treasures in spring, summer and autumn.
The spas are just over the border and are renowned for its beautiful architecture and the benefits from the natural resources. The area is also known for its beautiful castles and other cultural and historical sights.
